The 50km2 Kunche-Bepkong district is part of Azumah's Wa Gold Project in north west Ghana. At Kunche the Company's infill drilling campaign completed. The infill drilling demonstrates continuous and consistently ore grade mineralisation that extends over 1.4km and well below current planned pit floors, to over 200m below surface.
Some much broader-than-expected intersections highlight the likelihood of a positive re-interpretation of the mineralisation on several sections and an overall resource upgrade. A full re-interpretation of the Kunche and Bepkong deposits was completed in Q3 2012.
Kunche diamond core hole KRDC 378, in which visible gold had been reported at several intervals, returned an outstanding 14.1m at 32.38g/t Au from 122m (over one ounce per tonne), including 4m at 80.8g/t Au from 131m and a peak value of 170g/t Au at 131m (over five ounces per tonne).
